Dr. Sonya Kashyap MD, MSc Epi, FRCSC, FACOG | Co-director
Dr. Sonya Kashyap completed medical school, residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and a Masters in Epidemiology at the University of Ottawa, Ottawa, Ontario. She completed her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Infertility at Cornell University Medical College in NY under the mentorship of Dr. Zev Rosenwaks. She returned home to Canada to practice from 2004 to 2007 before being recruited to the University of California at San Francisco.
Dr. Kashyap is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology through both the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a diplomat of The American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
Her work has been honored by numerous awards, publications, national and international presentations. She has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and Physician Services Incorporated for her work on fertility preservation in cancer patients, infant outcomes after IVF and decision making in IVF. She is also the recipient of a CIHR Women’s Health and Gender New Investigator award.
