Margo Fluker
MD, FRCS(C)
Dr. Fluker received her medical degree
from the University of Alberta in 1980 and completed
her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1985.
She received an Alberta Heritage Foundation Scholarship
to complete a Clinical Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology
at the University of California in San Francisco, then
joined the faculty at the University of British Columbia
in 1989, where she currently holds the rank of Clinical
Professor. She is also co-founder and co-director of
the Genesis Fertility Centre.
Dr. Fluker is actively involved in
medical education and received a National Teaching Award
from the Council on Resident Education in Obstetrics
and Gynecology in 1999. She sits on the Reproductive
Endocrinology Committee of the Society of Obstetricians
and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC). In addition to serving
on the editorial board for the Journal of Obstetrics
and Gynaecology of Canada, she has also participated
in several Consensus Conference documents for both SOGC
and CFAS. She has authored or co-authored 44 peer-reviewed
scientific papers and six textbook chapters.
Her clinical and research interests
involve new ovulation induction protocols for assisted
reproduction, treatment options for young women with
premature menopause, and new therapies for osteoporosis.
