Susan Ward
RN, MBA

Susan Ward is the Director of Clinical Services and is responsible for ensuring our patients receive the best possible nursing care. She is able to do this thanks to her 20 plus years in the field of Reproductive Medicine and Women’s Health as a nurse, manager and director.

Susan’s very impressive credentials include participation in several project based initiatives such as; the planning and development of the SARS Unit for the City of Hamilton and the planning and development of the Reproductive and Family Health Units at the West End Clinic in Hamilton. She has acted as a program evaluation consultant for the Calgary Health Authority and the Ottawa Civic Hospitals. In the past she has been awarded for her expertise in program evaluation, process redesign and change management skills.

Susan has helped shape not only our facility’s excellent quality of care standard but has contributed nationally and internationally to that goal. She has published several articles with respect to regulations, patient safety, and quality control including a thesis on “The effectiveness of Regulation in the area of Reproductive Medicine.” Susan also currently works as a surveyor with the Canadian Council on Health Services and Accreditation (CCHSA) both nationally and internationally. She has been instrumental in developing educational guidelines and standards for Independent Health Facilities on behalf of the College of Physician and Surgeons of Ontario and accreditation standards for Assisted Reproductive Technology for CCHSA.

Susan has contributed to her community through her involvement with professional societies as a board member, committee chair and editor. She also tutored organizational development for McMaster University and lectured for many organizations including the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (SOGC) Nursing Best Practices, Athabasca University, Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society (CFAS) and the Toronto Law Society.
